DEVELOPMENT 1 OVERVIEW

As a committment to the development of coaches in our province, all Development 1 Level clinics are only $75 for Hockey Manitoba members of the current season. Hockey Manitoba members are those who are officially registered on a Hockey Manitoba Team Roster of the current season of the clinic.

The Development 1, formerly referred as Intermediate has under gone a number of changes over the past few years. The Development 1 program is based on meeting the needs of the athlete and is geared towards coaches working with athletes moving into the competitive/elite levels of play.

These clinics run for a total of 18 hours (2 days) and feature a 2 hour on-ice session each day. Coaches at the Development 1 clinic will further develop communication and team building, teaching individual and team skills and tactics, practice drill design and progressions, transition game, and more.

REMINDER: ALL COACHES SIGNING UP FOR A DEVELOPMENT 1 CLINIC SHOULD BE COACHING AT, OR WORKING TOWARDS, A LEVEL REFLECTIVE OF THE COURSE CONTENT (i.e. HS, AA, AAA, JR.B, JR.A, ETC.)

ALL must team officials (coaches) must have Respect In Sport certification by Dec 1, 2009. Previous Speak Out certification is equivalent to Respect in Sport for the 2009/10 season.

REGISTER FOR A DEVELOPMENT 1 CLINIC

Hockey Manitoba is pleased to offer online registration through the Hockey Canada eHockey system. Each clinic runs 2-days (Sat/Sun) from 8:30AM to 5:30PM and must be attended in it's entirety. Development 1 Clinics have a fee of $75 + GST for Hockey MB members. Payment is made online during the registration process using a valid credit card.

PRE-CLINIC WORK: All participants must complete/pass the MAKING ETHICAL DECISIONS (MED) online evaluation before attending a Development 1 clinic. Upon completion of the MED online evaluation you will receive a confirmation email from the CAC. You must forward this MED confirmation email to clinics@hockeymanitoba.mb.ca no later than 4 days prior to your clinic.
